The A-board is your silent salesperson: placed outside the door, it stops the passer-by who was about to walk on. We make it in our workshop in Manciet, in the Gers, with a design made to be read from a distance and replaced as often as your offer changes.

An A-board does not stand on your premises: it stands in front of them, on space that belongs to the local council. So it is your town hall, and only your town hall, that will tell you what you are allowed to put out, over what footprint, at what times and under what conditions. The rules are not the same from one town to the next, and they can differ from one street to another in the same town, especially in historic centres.
We will not tell you what is allowed: we do not know, and telling you otherwise would put you at risk. The useful reflex is simple: call the relevant department before confirming your order, write down what they tell you, and then order. You avoid the risk of having a sign made that you cannot put out.
A passer-by does not read your A-board, they pass it. They keep walking, they look elsewhere, they give you the time of two steps. That completely changes how the design is put together: one idea per side, one strong word in very large type, a price or a time readable without effort, and the rest underneath for whoever actually stops.
Today's special is not last week's, the sales do not last all year, and the summer menu has nothing in common with November's. An A-board whose graphic never changes becomes furniture: regulars soon stop seeing it. So think in series rather than single copies: have the graphics for your key moments of the year printed in one go, store them, and swap the face when the offer changes.
A pavement sign lives outdoors, and it lives hard. It takes the westerly wind full on, it gets caught in the downpour, it gets knocked by a shopping bag, it is brought in at night and put out again in the morning, sometimes in a hurry. It is rough use, and it is what you need to anticipate when choosing how it is made rather than finding out in February. Tell us where it will stand: a sheltered street in the village centre and a corner facing due west do not call for the same answers.
We print in the Gers, in Manciet, and we work for shopkeepers who are often only a few kilometres away. This proximity has a very concrete effect: we know the streets you are talking about, we can approve a proof with you without ten emails back and forth, and a shopkeeper who needs their sign for a market or a local fête finds someone across the counter who understands the deadline. Send us your file, or simply your logo and the text you want to get across: we will start from there.
